Why make a will?A will is a legal declaration of how you wish your property, money and possessions to be dealt with after your death. It is the best way to ensure that your assets are distributed according to your wishes and not allocated according to the intestacy laws. Without a will the very old-fashioned laws of intestacy would determine who inherits your estate. This means there could be no provision for unmarried partners, stepchildren or guardians for your children and even if you are married your spouse may not inherit a full share of your assets.
Why make a Lasting Power of Attorney?
Of
course we do not
like to think about it, but in life we do not know what is around the
corner. Should you find yourself in a position where you cannot conduct
your own affairs, perhaps due to illness or incapacitation, if an LPA
has been drawn up it will grant appointed individuals the power to take
responsibility for your affairs. They will make decisions on your
behalf and manage areas such as your finances and property or your
personal health and welfare.

They will provide you with constructive and detailed advice on every aspect of preparing your will or LPA and have the experience and knowledge to answer your specific questions and guide you around the many pitfalls.
Wills
For
£500.00 + VAT we will prepare an individual will
for you.
For
£850.00 + VAT we will prepare a
‘mirror’ will for you and your partner.
During the will writing process we will hold detailed discussions with
you either in person or over the phone to ensure that all aspects of
your situation are covered.
We can provide you with Inheritance Tax advice and also put you in
contact with an independent financial adviser if required.
The final will, once drafted, will be specifically tailored to meet all
of your requirements.
LPAs
For
£500.00 + VAT we will prepare either a Financial
LPA or a Welfare LPA.
For
£850.00 + VAT we will prepare both a Financial
LPA and a Welfare LPA.
The preparation of an LPA can be very complex and we will ensure that
we hold detailed discussions either in person or over the phone to
ensure we have satisfied your requirements.
We will also register your LPA with the Office of the Public Guardian.
